Characteristics
Quiet and docile could even be described as cuddly these birds enjoy foraging but tolerate confinement well. With small wings and a profusion of feathers they even look cuddly.
They are a gorgeous golden colour and are good dual purpose birds but with them being so friendly it’s hard to eat them..
They come in Black, Blue, Splash, White, and Buff but here at Feathered Friends poultry we only have the buff variety.
They were originally breed to be good egg layers but the strains we have here are not as good as some of the other heritage breeds we have available. They tend to lay well in short bursts so limited birds and eggs are available for hatching, please enquire for availability.
They make great pets and get along fine with other breeds but can sometimes get bullied as they are so placid, especially when they are younger.
Here at Feathered Friends we only have the buff available.
